Greek programmers on YouTube
It’s true that Greek-speaking YouTube channels related to programming or developer topics are few compared to English-speaking ones. However, this doesn’t mean there aren’t noteworthy efforts from Greece. Over the years, I’ve found quite a few of them, and I’d like to share them in this post:
Social Nerds
One of the first channels I discovered when I started programming professionally. Initially, their content included several tutorials and videos about developer culture, primarily from a professional perspective. Recently, the content has shifted towards discussion-type videos on topics relevant to developers in the workplace.
CodeGRow
A relatively new channel that I stumbled upon during a TikTok infinite scroll session, and I’ve been following it ever since. The content is primarily practical, focusing on tutorials. The videos are well-produced, with high-quality audio and visuals that avoid the sense of amateurism often encountered. The creator puts effort into publishing these videos, and it shows. Currently, CodeGRow is serving in the military but has promised to keep releasing content even during his service.
Ioannis Lilimpakis
Ioannis shares his experiences through his videos on interviews, certificates, events, and tools related to programming and developers. He always provides his own perspective, grounding viewers in the Greek reality. While his videos are sporadic, they’re worth watching for their raw and realistic content, which, in my opinion, resonates more authentically with everyday life.
Μικρή Κουβέντα (Small Talk)
Antonis and Paris, almost every week, host engaging discussions on topics related to IT and programming. The content becomes even more exciting when they invite guests. Their videos are more in the form of podcasts, but for those who prefer visuals, subscribing to their channel is a great option.
BONUS
The following two channels may not be in Greek, but they are run by Greeks and are worth mentioning for the quality of their content.
- Eleftheria Batsou: Recently, Eleftheria has been focusing on interviews with professionals in the field. However, her channel also features various courses, talks, and rich content on other topics for developers, in addition to the interviews.
- Nick Chapsas: Although his channel is primarily about C# and .NET, it’s worth following him for the insights and advice he offers, which can help you understand various programming concepts better.
